The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour concluded in Colombo, wrapping up a multi-city journey across India and Sri Lanka that celebrated women’s cricket and inspired the next generation of players.

The tour travelled through Mumbai, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and concluded in Colombo, building excitement ahead of the 13th edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup. It offered fans an opportunity to connect with the coveted silverware ahead of the highly anticipated global event, which gets underway on Tuesday (30 September) with a clash between India and Sri Lanka at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.

In Colombo, the tour began at the R Premadasa Stadium on September 22, where Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu welcomed the trophy alongside teammates Harshitha Samarawickrama and Nilakshi de Silva, in the presence of members of the media. Over four days, the trophy visited key locations, engaging young cricketers, fans and the community.

At the Colombo Cricket Club, the trophy was showcased during a women’s developmental tournament, giving young players the opportunity to interact with it and capture moments. Later, it received a festive welcome at the Sirasa TV campus, where a colourful parade was held in the presence of national players Harshitha, Vishmi Gunarathne and Tharuka Shehan, along with enthusiastic fans.

The trophy was also displayed at the iconic Lotus Tower, where it was greeted with traditional Sri Lankan drummers. Fans had the chance to meet players including Kavisha Dilhari, Sugandika Kumari, Anushka Sanjeewani and Inoka Ranaweera, and take photographs with the trophy. The tour concluded with a school visit to Devi Balika Vidyalaya, where students participated in cricket-themed activities alongside national players Kaushini Nuthyangana, Hansima Karunaratne and Tharuka.

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will be played from September 30 to November 2 across five venues: DY Patil Stadium (Navi Mumbai), ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam) and R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo, Sri Lanka). Tickets start at just ₹100 (approximately USD 1.13), the most affordable ever for an ICC global event.
