The final day of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 summit clash is all set to be played on Sunday, June 11, at the Kennington Oval in London, which could potentially determine the winner of the ICC red-ball tournament.
Notably, Rohit Sharma-led team India require a humongous 280 runs on Day 5 in their quest to attain glory in their second consecutive WTC final. However, having lost three wickets at the close of Day 4, the Indian side will need to put in the hard yards, keep their wickets and remain steady in the crucial clash to have some hopes of clinching the coveted mace.
While the fans and the players of both teams are gearing up for a historic final day, weather at the venue in London could be a potential threat. On that note, we take a look at the weather forecast for Day 5 of the WTC final.
Weather forecast at Kennington Oval, London for WTC Final on Day 5
As the match commences at 10:30 am in London (3:00pm IST), the weather projections as per ‘Accuweather’ shows that it will remain sunny with a cloud cover of 46% and wind gusts travelling at the rate of 27 km/h during the morning session.
Likewise, ‘BBC Weather' also shows clear skies for the morning session, with the temperature oscillating between 23 and 26 degrees centigrade. However, it is the afternoon session which could likely be the bearer of bad news as the website projects some chances of precipitation, with humidity at 45%. There are slight chance showers at the venue towards the latter half of the afternoon, as the cloud cover is at 70%.
Team Australia, who have maintained their domination until Day 4, will be gunning to stay ahead of the rival side once they take the field. On the other hand, team India will look to forge solid partnerships and play aggressively when required to have a say in the crucial contest.
