Australia are hoping that Cameron Green's IPL stint will be a positive for him and not a hindrance as he gears up for the World Test Championship final against India. Arguably the finest all-rounder in Australia at the moment, Green, devoted a significant amount of time playing in the IPL recently as the Mumbai Indians (MI) managed to make it to the IPL 2023 playoffs. The eventual runner-ups Gujarat Titans defeated MI in Qualifier 2 after MI triumphed over Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator.

After signing an INR 17.50 crore contract with Mumbai Indians, Cameron Green excelled throughout his first IPL season. In 16 games, Green scored 452 runs while striking at 160.28. Green hit a hundred and two fifties as he played an integral role in helping Mumbai Indians reach the playoffs.

Mumbai were ultimately eliminated in Qualifier 2, but Green and Rohit will still run into one another once again though as opponents when Australia and India square off in the ICC World Test Championship Final at The Oval.

Green may draw on what he acquired from the India captain during the IPL

From teammates in the IPL 2023, while playing for the same franchise to taking on each other now in the summit clash of the WTC final, Green could draw on the lessons he acquired from his Mumbai captain during the IPL. Reflecting on his time at Mumbai Indians Green heaped praise on Rohit's leadership ability and the valuable lessons he learnt during the cash-rich league.

"The calmness he has out in the middle is so evident. He's obviously been there and done that for 10 years.  To be out there with him and just talk through a situation was awesome. My role was trying to be aggressive and then he obviously showed ways to go about it, whether it was attacking spin, attacking pace, kind of picking your bowler in a way,” Green said to the ICC when asked about playing under Rohit's guidance.
