India and Australia are set to take on each other in the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Both sides will face each other in Australia from November 22. It is worth noting that India have won on the last two tours to Australia, and they will be hoping for a hat trick.
However, the Aussies will not be making things easy for the visitors. There will be many battles that the fans will look forward to. However, one of the most anticipated battles on the field would be the one between star India batter Rishabh Pant and Australia’s bowling attack.
Ahead of the series, veteran Australia spinner Nathan Lyon came forward and talked about the prospect of facing Pant once more. He heaped praise on the 26-year-old and opined that when bowling against Pant, there is very little margin for error.
“You're bowling against someone like Rishabh Pant, who is electric. He's got all the skill in the world. As a bowler, your room for error is so small. So you've got to be good. It's a challenge as a bowler if I'm going to get hit for six. I'm not afraid about getting hit for six. The challenge is that I can provide the batters and try and keep someone like Rishabh in his crease and potentially try and get him to defend me a lot more and hopefully bring a couple of chances along the way,” Nathan Lyon told Star Sports.
Rishabh Pant has made a stellar comeback to Test cricket. The star batter was involved in a life-threatening car accident back in December 2022, which saw him miss many months of cricket. However, making his return to Test cricket, Pant managed to score a century against Bangladesh in the ongoing Test series, helping India register a win in the first Test.
