The Harare-born cricketer, Gary Ballance, has been ruled out of the second Test of the ongoing Test series between West Indies and Zimbabwe due to a severe migraine headache.

The West Indies are presently touring Zimbabwe for a two-match Test series, where the first rain-marred Test was drawn while the second Test, being the decider, commenced from February 12, 2023.

Gary Ballance had been unwell from past few days

A Zimbabwe cricket spokesperson has revealed that Ballance was feeling unwell for several days due to the migraine issue and hasn't recovered from that. His condition worsened on the eve of the second Test and so the Zimbabwe management decided to exclude the 33-year-old from their squad, so he could fully recover.
Interestingly enough, Gary Ballance has become only the second Test batter after Kepler Wessels to have scored centuries for two countries. He achieved this feat when he scored a first-innings 137 on his Zimbabwe debut against the West Indies in the first Test.
The Southpaw was born in Harare, shifted to England during his school days, where he scored four centuries for his adopted nation. He recently switched allegience to return and resume playing for his birth country.
Speaking about the series, visitors West Indies have been completely dominant over the hosts, which was quite evident from the first Test. Notably, it was the fourth stalemate in 11 Tests between the teams with the West Indies winning the other seven.
Weather was the major spoilsport in the first Test with three and a half sessions were lost because of the incessant rains during the first two days, which ultimately denied the tourists a probable victory.
