Sri Lanka will take on Bangladesh in Match 1 of the Super Four stage in Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, September 20. The Lankans recently emerged victorious by six wickets and 32 balls to spare against Bangladesh in the group-stage clash.

Speaking of the Lankans, they ended as table toppers by winning all three matches in the first stage of the eight-team torunament. The Charith Asalanka-led side won all their matches while chasing. Pathum Nissanka has been in fine nick with 124 runs in three matches while striking at 149.39.

On the other hand, Bangladesh had started off their Asia Cup 2025 by registering a seven-wicket win against Hong Kong. However, a dent in their net run rate occurred when they suffered a loss to Sri Lanka in their next game. An all-round bowling effort in their final group-stage match meant Bangladesh scraped past Afghanistan by eight runs. Sri Lanka's recent victory over Afghanistan ensured Bangladesh's qualification in the Super Fours.

Pitch Report

Chasing is expected to be a little easier in Dubai. Boundary-scoring isn't the easiest due to the dimensions of the ground. However, teams batting second are likely to have a slight advantage with dew setting in later in the night.
