Bangladesh and Afghanistan are all set to take each other on for a one-off Test match, scheduled to begin from June 14. The match will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Bangladesh last competed in a Test match when they took on the Andrew Balbirnie-led Ireland back in April. The Shakib Al Hasan-led side was quick to finish the game, winning by seven wickets. Furthermore, Bangladesh has been in good form in white-ball cricket as well, and they would be keen on emerging victorious when they take on Afghanistan as well.

On the other hand, Afghanistan has had a long hiatus from Test cricket. They last played a game in the longest format when they took on Zimbabwe back in March 2021 in a two-match Test series, when they emerged victorious in sensational fashion.

Pitch and Conditions:

The surface at the Sher-e-Bangla national cricket stadium is a batter-friendly one. With little help from the bowlers, a big score and a thrilling run chase could be expected. Choosing to bowl first after winning the toss could prove to be a wise decision.
