Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are all set to continue their ongoing Test series by facing off in the second and final Test. Both sides will take centre stage at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, from March 30. The hosts will be keen on putting in an improved performance, especially after they faced a defeat in the first Test.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh locked horns in the first Test in Sylhet on March 22, and the visitors managed to register a dominant win. Sri Lanka posted 280 runs in the first innings of the game and managed to limit Bangladesh to a total of 188 runs in their first innings. Furthermore, the visitors maximized their mammoth lead, posting a total of 418 runs after brilliant tons by Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis, who scored 108 and 164 runs, respectively.

Subsequently, Sri Lanka bundled out Bangladesh for 182 runs, winning the game by 328 runs. As the second test approaches, where the visitors will aim to replicate their showings from the first test, Bangladesh will look to improve and level the series.

Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Pitch Report

The surface at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium is expected to be quite slow. Hence the spinners will play a major role in the upcoming fixture and will try to exploit the conditions to their advantage. The batters will aim to bat patiently by showing an early vigil before they begin to play their strokes freely to notch up runs on the scoreboard.
