Following a seven-wicket win in the first T20I, England are all set to lock horns with New Zealand for the second clash of the four-match T20I series. The two heavyweights will square off at Old Trafford in Manchester on Friday, September 1.
Speaking about the previous match, the Kiwis could only manage to post a meagre 139 runs in their stipulated 20 overs courtesy of Glenn Phillips’ 38-ball 41. Brydon Carse and Luke Wood were brilliant with the ball as they claimed three scalps apiece to dent the rival batting line-up.
Meanwhile, Dawid Malan’s 54 coupled with Harry Brook’s unbeaten 43 off 27 balls helped the Three Lions to clinch the first T20I. New Zealand will be eager to get back on level terms before the home side further extends their lead on Friday’s clash.
Pitch and conditions:
The surface at Old Trafford in Manchester appears to be a balanced track as there is an equal degree of assistance for both batters and bowlers. While there will be some movement with the new ball for the pacers, batters will be able to nullify it to score big as the game progresses. Either skipper winning the toss will likely bowl first.
