The 59th match of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) will see the clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, May 13. Both teams have clashed 30 times so far and have won 15 matches each.

The David Warner-led side are struggling at the bottom of the IPL 2023 points table, having won just four of their 11 games. PBKS, on the other hand, are in the eighth spot of the points tally with 10 points and will aim to win in order to keep their slim playoff qualification hopes.

Delhi Capitals are coming off with a 27-run defeat against the four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 10. Notably, the loss saw their playoff chances almost out of reach. Meanwhile, the Shikhar Dhawan-led side are coming off two consecutive defeats against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

DC, who began the season without regular skipper Rishabh Pant, have had a forgettable season so far. Meanwhile, PBKS started the season on a high note but later failed to maintain their winning momentum. However, fans will anticipate an exciting battle when DC and PBKS compete in Delhi.

Pitch and Conditions

The surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is slower, and the boundaries are small, but the outfield remains rapid. The team that wins the toss will probably choose to bat first as the middle overs of the second innings mostly favour spinners.
