Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 9.

This will be a crucial match for LSG as they have acquired just ten points in 11 matches, sitting at the seventh spot in the table with five wins and six losses. They need to win all of their remaining matches to qualify for the playoffs. LSG have had a shaky tournament so far and the team will aim to rectify their mistakes to make a comeback in the upcoming matches.

On the other hand, RCB are sitting comfortably at the second position of the points table with 16 points in their account. They are just one victory away from qualifying for the playoffs. The increased competition this season is the reason why they have not qualified yet despite winning eight games out of 11.

Meanwhile, there has been a personnel change in RCB as they have signed Mayank Agarwal as the replacement of injured Devdutt Padikkal. The visiting team is also awaiting a fitness clearance for pacer Josh Hazlewood, who missed the previous fixture against Chennai Super Kings with a shoulder niggle while RCB skipper Rajat Patidar is also under injury cloud as he hurt his finger in the previous game. RCB opener Phil Salt has already been out of action for the last two games due to illness.

The upcoming game will be challenging for the batters as the Lucknow track is known to assist the bowlers. Moreover, the competition is wide open and multiples teams are in the hunt to qualify.
