The action will continue in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as Australia and New Zealand will take on each other in Match 27 on Saturday, October 28 at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. Australia are coming into the game on a three-match winning streak and are on the fourth spot on the points table with three wins from five matches with six points to their name.
The Pat Cummins-led side didn’t get their campaign off to a good start as they lost their opening fixture against India by six wickets and were later hammered by 134 runs by South Africa in their second game. However, they made a brilliant comeback by defeating Sri Lanka by five wickets. The five-time champions further beat Pakistan by 62 runs and blew away Netherlands by the highest victory margin in World Cup history (309 runs).
On the other hand, New Zealand are coming into the fixture having faced their first loss in the tournament against India in their last game. They’re ranked third on the points table with four wins from five matches having eight points to their name.

Despite not having their regular captain Kane Williamson for the majority of the tournament, New Zealand began their campaign with a comprehensive nine-wicket win over England in the opening game. They further went on to beat the Netherlands, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to strengthen their spot in the top four on the points table.
Australia have had an upper hand over New Zealand in World Cup history as they’ve beaten them on eight occasions out of the 11 times the two teams have met each other. Hence, they will look to continue their winning run and assert their dominance again on the Kiwis while New Zealand will look to get back on the winning track after the loss against India.
AUS vs NZ Pitch Conditions
There have been four matches played at the venue so far in the ongoing tournament where two each have been won by teams batting and bowling first. However, the chasing teams have had an upper hand in Dharamsala as they’ve won five times out of the eight matches played at the venue.
The average first-innings score in the last four matches has been 260 while the highest target chased 274 by India in the last fixture. Captain winning the toss is likely to bowl first keeping the past record of the venue in mind.
