The action will continue in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as Australia and Afghanistan take on each other in Match 39 on Tuesday, November 07 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Australia are coming into the game on a five-match winning streak as they beat England in their last fixture by 33 runs. The Pat Cummins-led side are ranked on the third spot on the points table with five wins from seven matches having ten points to their name.
On the other hand, Afghanistan are also coming into the game on a three-match winning streak as they find themselves on the sixth spot on the points table with four wins from seven matches having eight points to their name. They started their campaign with back-to-back losses against Bangladesh and India.
However, the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side scripted history by beating the defending champions England in their third fixture. They further went on to beat Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Netherlands and now find themselves in a great chance of qualifying for the semi-final of the tournament. Afghanistan need to win both of their remaining fixtures to seal their spot in the top four.

On the other hand, Australia started their campaign with back-to-back losses against India and South Africa. However, they brought their campaign back on track by winning their next five fixtures. The Pat Cummins-led side are just one more win away from qualifying for the semi-final of the event and will be eager to seal their spot by defeating Afghanistan.
