Pakistan and New Zealand face each other once again in the third T20I of the five-match series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Monday, April 17. After the hosts’ back-to-back wins in the first two matches of the series, the Black Caps would be keen on responding in the same manner when the third T20I gets underway.
Babar Azam-led Pakistan have recovered quite nicely from their recent series loss to Afghanistan. The Men in Green have won both of the T20I matches against New Zealand comfortably so far, and they will hope that the same will be the case once again on April 17.
On the other hand, the Black Caps would be keen on finding ways to retaliate and win their first game of the series. The side have put in a poor performance with the bat in the first two matches, and skipper Tom Latham would hope for an improved performance from the entire side in the forthcoming game.
The previous game of the series saw Pakistan clinch a comfortable win by 38 runs. Babar Azam’s ton in the first innings and Haris Rauf’s sensational display with the ball during the visitors' chase helped the hosts maintain a strong grip on the series. As they gear up for the third game, Pakistan would be keen on clinching another win and winning the series.
Pitch and Conditions:
The pitch at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore has offered a heavy batter-friendly surface so far where Pakistan have won both matches batting first, and the decision to bat first could be likely from the team that wins the toss in the third T20I of the series.
