The fourth ODI of the five-match series between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Friday, May 5. The Babar Azam-led side has been outstanding in the series so far and has already clinched the series 3-0.
In the third ODI, Pakistan scored 287/6 after being invited to bat first. The hosts put on another clinical batting display, thanks to half-centuries from Imam-ul-Haq and skipper Babar Azam. Imam-ul-Haq smashed 90 off 107 balls while Babar scored 54 runs from 62 deliveries. Matt Henry was the key for the Tom Latham-led side as he claimed a three-wicket haul. Meanwhile, Adam Milne and Cole McConchie picked two and one wicket respectively.
New Zealand, on the other hand, failed to chase down the target, despite wicketkeeper-batter Tom Blundell (65 off 78) scoring a half-century. The hosts bundled out the Kiwis to 261 runs, with Shaheen Afridi, Nassem Shah, and Mohammad Wasim each grabbing two wickets and Salman Ali Agha taking one.
If Babar Azam's side continues to exhibit its dominant performance, it would have an excellent opportunity to sweep the five-match series going forward.
Pitch and Conditions
The batters ought to enjoy their time in the middle since the Karachi wicket is considered excellent for batting. In ODI matches, the surface is traditionally regarded as batting-friendly and favours spin bowlers. The team winning the toss would be inclined to bat first at this venue.
