As the tournament move on to the final matchday of the Asia Cup 2022, it is Sri Lanka who will meet Pakistan in the final in Dubai on September 11, Sunday. This will be their second meeting in three days as the two teams previously met in Super 4 on Friday, and it was Sri Lanka who emerged victorious.

It was a dominant performance from Sri Lankans as they reduced Pakistan to only 121 in the first innings. And, it was teed off with a clinical batting performance in the second innings, completing the chase with five wickets in hand and 18 balls to spare. Although Sri Lanka have the bragging rights, Pakistan might revert to their best playing XI for the final and come back harder at Dasun Shanaka’s side.

Pitch and Conditions

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium wicket generally provides a good surface to bat. But in the Asia Cup 2022, the wicket has provided a fairly even contest between bat and ball, with the surface getting slightly easier to bat on in the second innings. The average total across 12 innings in the tournament is 165 with the highest total being 212 and the lowest being 111. The temperature is expected to be hot as it has been throughout the competition, and it will not get much cooler later in the evening.

Pakistan made a few changes in their previous game against Sri Lanka as it was a dead rubber with Hasan Ali and Usman Qadir coming in. However, they might go switch to their winning combination, bringing back Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan into the team.
