After a sensational start to the Women’s Premier League (WPL) campaign, it seemed as if Mumbai Indians would comfortably seal their place in the summit clash of the event. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. were riding high on the back of five wins on the trot at the start of the season.

However, Alyssa Healy’s UP Warriorz handed Mumbai their first defeat in the top-tier league. MI suffered their second consecutive loss against finalists Delhi Capitals and that pulled the curtains on their chances of making it to the summit clash.

On the other hand, the UP-based franchise has been inconsistent throughout its campaign. However, with two additional wins as compared TO Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants, helped Healy and Co. to book a place in the Eliminator.

Mumbai Indians will seek redemption as they face UP Warriorz at the same venue they were handed a defeat in the league phase. The two teams will square off in the Eliminator of the WPL at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Friday, March 24. The underlying question remains, can Mumbai ease past Warriorz or will Alyssa Healy and Co. hand another defeat to MI and cruise into the finals?

Pitch and Conditions

The surface at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy has been helpful to batters and fans can expect a high-scoring thriller in the Eliminator. Both teams are well equipped with top-drawer batters to help their sides to get to a competitive total.
