Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, Mumbai Indians (MI-W) have done complete justice to the brand and the winning-mentality associated with the franchise. As of now, the Women in Blue and Gold comfortably sit atop the Women’s Premier League (WPL) points table, having won each of their three games comprehensively.
Mumbai have been outrightly dominating their opponents and have left no room for error, having recruited an enviable mix of young talent and experienced players. They defeated Gujarat Giants by a whopping 143 runs in the first game and followed that with a nine-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore and an eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals.
However, they are not the only side with great balance in the league as Alyssa Healy’s UP Warriorz (UP-W) too boast a similar mix of players.
Pitch & Conditions
The strip at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium is a batting-friendly one and remains pretty much the same throughout. Considering the shorter boundaries at the venue, the batters will enjoy scoring the big runs and a high-scoring contest can be expected.
