Following a thumping victory against the Gujarat Giants in the tournament opener, Mumbai Indians will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, March 6. Harmanpreet Kaur's side are on cloud nine after a clinical display in the curtain raiser of the Women's Premier League.
The Mumbai-based franchise did not have the best start in their previous outing as they lost opener Yastika Bhatia for a solitary run. However, their big-name players rose to the occasion after that initial blow. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led the charge for her side with an explosive half-century and received valiant support from Amelia Kerr in the latter stages of the match.
Despite posting a massive total on the board, Mumbai Indians bowlers never let the Gujarat Giants a moment's respite, bundling them out for a lowly total of 64 runs to complete a comprehensive victory. Meanwhile, their opponents, Royal Challengers Bangalore, got off to a contrasting start in the tournament, succumbing to a damaging defeat to the Delhi Capitals.
The Smriti Mandhana-led side conceded the highest score of the tournament in the first innings of the match and fell well short in the chase despite a breezy start. Their hapless bowling display is a cause of concern for Mandhana, especially when they take the field against a start-studded Mumbai Indians batting attack.
However, the Bangalore-based side cannot dwell too much on the defeat in their previous outing and will be looking to get off the mark tough game against Harmanpreet Kaur's Mumbai Indians.
Pitch and Conditions
The surface at DY Patil Stadium saw the batters take full advantage of the batting-friendly conditions in the previous match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Although there is something for the bowlers on the surface, the team winning the toss would be inclined to bat first to take full advantage of the conditions.

Following on from their flawless outing against the Gujarat Giants, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur will be expecting more of the same from her players in the upcoming match against Bangalore.
