Cricket South Africa (CSA) on August 2 (Tuesday) announced its nominees for the 2021/22 CSA Awards. The virtual ceremony will take place on August 14 (Sunday) which will include award categories for both men and women in both domestic and international arenas. This year’s judging panel for the CSA Awards includes of Jeremy Fredericks (Convenor), Natalie Germanos, Crystl Arnold, Lungani Zama, Stuart Hess and Clinton Du Preez.

The Proteas are having an excellent outing, especially in the international circuit as they recently defeated England in three-match T20I series. Earlier, they beat West Indies, Ireland, India (drew), and Sri Lanka. The Proteas also had a good outing during the 2021 T20 World Cup as they won four out of their five encounters in the tournament.

South Africa closed their Test season without losing a series

Not only in white-ball formats, but South Africa has also been doing well in the Test format as well. The Proteas defeated West Indies at their home and also came out victorious against India, and Bangladesh in a Test series. South Africa also drew a Test series against New Zealand. At present, the Proteas side is ranked third in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings and fourth in the T20 rankings. However, they will want to improve their ODI rankings as they are placed sixth on the table.

CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, said, “It is with great honour and privilege to congratulate all the nominees for the 2021/22 CSA Awards. This is the time where we celebrate the achievements of our Men and Women and the platforms that have nurtured the talent to ensure our stars can grow and excel in the game.”

“Our teams have really shown to be amongst the best in the world of cricket. Through these prestigious awards, CSA wishes to honour and celebrate every single individual who has been the heart-beat of making this season the resounding success it was,” Moseki added in a statement according to CSA’s official website.
