Afghanistan and Bangladesh will face each other in a two-match T20I series starting from July 14 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.. The second game will also be played at the same venue on July 16.
Afghanistan will be coming into the contests on the back of a historic 2-1 ODI series victory over Bangladesh on their own den. They won the series with the help of sublime bowling display in the first game from the entire team, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran destroyed the Bangladesh bowlers in the second ODI by registering a record opening partnership of 256 runs. Afghanistan will be high on confidence after winning the series and would look to carry the winning momentum. Mohammad Shahzad, the veteran wicket-keeper batter, has earned a call up after two years and is expected to open along with Gurbaz.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be heading into the game after a rare home series loss. They won the one-off Test by a humungous margin of 546 runs, the third-biggest win in terms of runs in Test history. However, they failed to carry the momentum in the ODIs.
