Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will fly to Delhi as they lock horns against Delhi Capitals (DC) for the second time in match number 50 of IPL 2023 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on 6th May 2023.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be coming into the contest, after defending their lowest target against the Lucknow Super Giants in their own den. With five wins in nine games, they are placed fifth in the points table. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, will be heading into the contest after toppling the table toppers Gujarat Titans on their own den, while defending their lowest target in IPL history. With three wins in nine games, they are placed at bottom of the table.

For DC, David Warner is their go-to batter, as he has so far aggregated 308 runs at an average of 34.22 in nine games, while Axar Patel has contributed down the order at different situations. In the bowling department, Kuldeep Yadav has picked 8 wickets so far and Mitchell Marsh has picked 7 wickets. Ishant Sharma has been impressive for DC as he is the only bowler to have not conceded a single six in the tournament with minimum of ten overs bowled. DC would look to carry the winning momentum.

For RCB, skipper Faf du Plessis has been the go-to batter, as he has so far aggregated 466 runs at an impressive average of 58.25 and has scored five half centuries as well, while Virat Kohli has managed to score 364 runs at an average 45.50. In the bowling department, Mohammed Siraj has picked up 15 wickets in 9 matches, while Harshal Patel has managed to pick 11 wickets. RCB too would look to carry their winning-run.

Strategy and Match-ups:

Both Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis have struggled against Axar Patel. While du Plessis has been dismissed thrice against Patel in 79 balls and has scored 87 runs, Kohli has struck at 112.9 against Axar Patel and have been dismissed once, this would tempt David Warner to bring Axar Patel early on in the powerplay to counter the openers along with Anrich Nortje.

Glenn Maxwell has smacked 59 runs against the likes of Kuldeep Yadav in as many as 22 balls but has been dismissed four times, including the one dismissal that came in the last game. Mohammed Siraj has picked Prithvi Shaw thrice in 29 balls, and at the same time has leaked 41 runs.

Another interesting battle is between David Warner and Glenn Maxwell, Warner has been dismissed once against Maxwell in 32 balls he faced and has struck at 121.9 with 15 dot balls, hence Faf du Plessis might use Maxwell early on in the powerplay to counter the openers.
