India vs Australia, 1st Test Day 2 Stats Review: Rohit's Dominance, Jadeja's feat and other stats

A topsy-turvy day that ended in favour of India as they took a massive lead of 144 runs over Australia in the first Test in Nagpur. The first hour of the first session belonged to India as Ravichandran Ashwin and Rohit Sharma withstood the spin threat of Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy. Rohit Sharma, then notched up his brilliant century for the ninth time in Test cricket.  

It was a day to forget for the Indian middle-order, as wickets kept on tumbling in quick successions. Handy fifties from the lower middle-order batters Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel helped India gain massive 144 runs lead on the second day at the VCA Stadium.

For Australia, Todd Murphy was at his very best and weaved magic on his debut as he became the sixteenth Australian bowler to pick a fifer.
