Dunith Wellalage delivered back-to-back three wickets in consecutive overs, dismissing Rohit on 53 off 48, Gill on 19 off 25, and Kohli on 3 off 12. Once again, Wellalage broke the partnership, and Rahul was dismissed for 39 off 44. From the other end, Asalanka took four wickets in quick succession, with Ishan departing on 33 off 61, and Jadeja getting out very soon after scoring only 4 runs. In the end, Axar played some good shots and scored 26 runs in 36 balls, helping India reach a defending total of 213/10 in 49.1 overs.
