Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) welcome the out-of-form Delhi Capitals (DC) side in Match No. 20 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on a doubleheader Super Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Both sides will meet again in the reverse fixture in Match No. 50 on May 06 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Talking about their forms, RCB began their campaign with a bang as they defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) convincingly by a margin of eight wickets at home. The Bangalore-based franchise then suffered two back-to-back losses against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Kolkata and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Chinnaswamy. With two points in three games and a net run rate of -0.800, they are placed in the seventh position in the table.
On the other hand, nothing has gone right for David Warner’s DC team. They have played four games so far and lost all of them. Their defeats have come against LSG, defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and MI. Skipper Warner’s strike rate has come under scrutiny but at the same time, he is also the leading run-getter (209 runs) for his side with three half-centuries. England’s Phil Salt might replace Rovman Powell, who has three single digit-scores to his name. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is back from international duty for RCB and might replace David Willey in the final 11 straightaway.
