Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) welcome Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 57 of IPL 2023 on Friday, May 12 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Titans defeated MI by a big margin of 55 runs when both sides met earlier in the reverse fixture in Ahmedabad.
MI are high on confidence after winning three out of their last four encounters. All of those victories have come by chasing a target of 200 or more thanks to some blistering form of Suryakumar Yadav. The five-time title winners have played 11 matches overall with six wins and five losses this year. With 12 points and a net run rate of -0.255, they are placed in the third position in the table.
On the other hand, it has been yet another fruitful season for reigning champions GT as they have played 11 games with eight victories and just three defeats. With 16 points and a positive NRR of 0.951, they are bossing the table at the top. The Titans have almost qualified for the playoffs but one more win would surely seal the deal. Meanwhile, MI have three games left as they can also reach a total of 18 points, which should be enough for them to grab a spot in the final four.
Head-to-Head: Both sides have met each other twice with MI and GT winning a game apiece.
