Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 68 of IPL 2023 on a doubleheader Saturday on May 20, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Both sides are meeting each other for the first and last time in the league phase of the ongoing season. Notably, both will also play their last game before the start of the Playoffs.

The Knight Riders have blown hot and cold this campaign as they have played 13 games with six victories and seven defeats. With 12 points and a net run rate of -0.256, they are placed in the seventh position in the table. They need a win here and then hope for other results to go their way to secure a place in the last four. The chances of the 2012 and 2014 IPL winners qualifying for the next round look bleak.

On the other hand, LSG has been impressive yet again in their second season. Krunal Pandya’s side has played 13 matches with seven wins and five losses. Their one encounter with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ended with no result. With 15 points and an NRR of +0.304, they are positioned third in the table. (All standings till Match No. 65). A victory here would guarantee them a spot in the last four. Notably, LSG will sport a special Mohun Bagan jersey in this encounter. Though, the game may get affected by the weather as it’s raining in Kolkata just a day before.
