Shubman Gill and his Gujarat Titans side were left disappointed after their 33-run loss to Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday. Young Yash Thakur grabbed the first fifer of the IPL 2024 season to hand the Titans their third loss of the season.
Marcus Stoinis played a crucial knock of 58 runs from 43 balls with four boundaries and two sixes. KL Rahul with 33 runs played the perfect second fiddle to the Australian as the pair added 73 runs for the 3rd wicket. Nicholas Pooran (32) and Ayush Badoni (20) helped LSG reach 163 on the board.
After an amazing start, the Gujarat Titans lost 5 wickets for just 26 runs to see their momentum slip. Sai Sudharsan with 31 and Rahul Tewatia with 30 tried to put up a fight but Yash Thakur had other plans. The 25-year-old bowled well and picked wickets at crucial junctures to help LSG record their 3rd win from four games in the IPL 2024 season.
