After losing two away matches in a row, Chennai Super Kings returned to their den at Chepauk in style by registering an emphatic win over Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets and 14 balls remaining.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad sent KKR in and the visitors made most of the opportunity, racing to 54/1 in the powerplay despite losing Phil Salt first ball. But in the 7th over, Ravindra Jadeja(3/18) dismissed both Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Sunil Narine and that was all the boost CSK needed. The visiting side never recovered from this double blow and managed only 137/9 in their 20 overs.

In response, the hosts also made use of the powerplay with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (67* off 58) building a platform alongside Rachin Ravindra at the start. Gaikwad also found support in Daryl Mitchell and Shivam Dube as Chennai knocked off the target with 14 balls to spare.
