ODI World Cup 2023: Match 19, NED vs SL Stats & Records at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

Sri Lanka (SL) and Netherlands (NED) face of each other in match number 19 of ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on 21st October 2023. 

Sri Lanka will enter the contest on the back of three consecutive losses in their first three games. Dilshan Madushanka was the only positive as far as bowling is concerned as he accounted for seven wickets in three games. Sri Lanka will need their senior pros to step-up if at all they need to go deep in the tournament. Lankans are the only team to have not won a single game so far in WC 2023 and are placed at the bottom of the table. 

Netherlands, on the other hand, will be heading into the game after springing a surprise against South Africa, beating them by 38 runs. Scott Edwards led the talking with a bat as he remained unbeaten on 78 to help Netherlands post defendable total of 245 in rain-curtailed game while Reolof van der Merwe showed his all-round abilities. Netherlands did lose their first two games and have a poor NRR as they are placed eighth in points table. They will be high on confidence when they meet Sri Lanka in the next game and would look to carry the inning momentum going in the next game.
