After three consecutive matches away from home, 10th-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will return home to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to host the Gujarat Titans(GT). RCB will be uplifted after being on a two-match winning streak after losing six in a row.

Gujarat Titans are placed eighth on the points table with just two more points than RCB in the same number of matches. GT themselves have been on a two-match losing streak and have found themselves very close to the bottom of the table and will be looking to take their points tally into the double digits.

Both of these teams' latest fixture was also the reverse fixture, just like the situation with LSG and CSK. The reverse fixture was held at Ahmedabad where GT started a little poorly, but B Sai Sudharsan and M Shahrukh Khan put up fifties to put GT on track to 200. Faf du Plessis started aggressively but fell early, and then Virat Kohli took over, at least until the WIll Jacks show anyway, Jacks was struggling at the start, but once he broke the shackles, it left everyone spellbound. Jacks got to his hundred from his fifty in just 6 minutes and RCB chased it with 9 wickets and almost 4 overs remaining.

RCB will be hoping for another victory as depending on the margin, they could finally be able to escape the dubiousness of being stuck dead last on the points table.

M Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report:

The stadium in Bengaluru is infamously flat, but not as flat as it used to be before. In the very last match here, the T20 record for most aggregate runs in a match was broken, but that can be attributed to SRH's fire-powered batting rather than a flat surface itself. While 287 may not be put up, a slightly higher total can be expected in the first innings.

RCB vs GT Strategies & Match-ups

RCB seem to have found a new lease of life after winning two matches in a row. And the addition of Will Jacks to this batting lineup has only bolstered their morale. The strategies especially when playing in Bengaluru will be heavily based on the batting of both sides, and GT's has been falling slightly inconsistent this season. Batting second seems to be the apparent choice as to what should be done if given the option. RCB's batters have put up 200+ totals for four matches in succession now and will be excited at the prospect of returning home to a pitch more batting-friendly than the ones they got at Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. The important matchups for this game are Virat Kohli vs Rashid Khan, Faf du Plessis vs Noor Ahmad, Will Jacks vs Rashid Khan, Will Jacks vs R Sai Kishore, B Sai Sudharsan vs Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill vs Yash Dayal.

Player Battles to Watch Out For:

Virat Kohli vs Rashid Khan:

Virat Kohli put up his best show against spin in the IPL in the last match, but Rashid Khan has still kept him quiet enough in the IPL. In 69 balls, Kohli has scored 86 runs and has been dismissed twice by Rashid. That is an average of 43, and a strike rate of 124.63. After the last match, this battle will once again take centre stage.

Mohammed Siraj vs Wriddhiman Saha:

Saha has always struggled against Siraj in the IPL. In 35 balls, he has scored only 37 runs and been dismissed thrice with an average of 12.33 and a strike rate of 105.71. Saha's poor form will only accentuate this run and spell even more trouble for him.

X-Factors for RCB vs GT:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru:

Will Jacks just hit the second fastest century by an RCB batsman, and will be bolstered by that performance to go out and emulate it to whatever extent possible. His brutal breakdown of the GT bowling will also leave the Titans flustered about their chances in this game.

Gujarat Titans:

Rashid Khan still holds a talismanic status for the fortunes of the GT bowling which also has gone awry in the last few matches. His matchups against all RCB batters will inspire the necessary confidence to possibly even bowl GT to a win. Rashid Khan will be required to shut down players like Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell who are known to be very good against spin.
