West Indies opening-batter Johnson Charles, toyed with the potent South African bowlers all round the ground, helping them post their highest T20I total in second T20I at Super Sports Park in Centurion on 26th March 2023. Charles amassed 118 runs from 46 balls, which included 10 fours and 11 maximums.

The right-handed opening batter became the fastest centurian for West Indies in T20I. He along with Kyle Mayers added 135 runs, a record partnership for the team in T20Is. Some crucial cameos from skipper Aiden Markram (unbeaten 38 off 21) and Heinrich Klaasen (unbeaten 16 off 7) helped South Africa chase the target with seven balls to spare.
