Sri Lanka (SL) will take on India (IND) in the 2nd T20I of the ongoing India tour of the Sri Lanka T20 World Cup on Wednesday, June 12, at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, in New York. This will be the first time the USA will be facing India.
In the ongoing series, India won the first match by 43 runs against the hosts, Thus, India would like to continue their winning momentum, On the other, the hosts would like to make a comeback in front of home crowd. Thus, Sri Lanka would like to grab a win to avoid series defeat.
Speaking about the last game, For India, Skipper Suryakumar Yadav 58(26) played a magnificent captain's innings which helped India to post a huge total. Yashasvi Jaiswal 40(21) started the Innings with a bang and Rishabh Pant 49(33) played superbly to give fantastic support to Suryakumar. As a result, India posted a huge total of 213. Speaking about the bowling of India, at the end Riyan Parag (1.2-0-5-3) bowled excellently which turned the game for India. Arshdeep Singh (3-0-24-2) also bowled superbly and gave excellent support to Parag. India also got good support from other bowlers, as a result, restricted Sri Lanka to just 170. Hence, the Indians hope that all these will continue to their good form.
For Sri Lanka, Openers Pathum Nissanka 79(48) and Kusal Mendis 45(27) played superbly and gave excellent support to Sri Lanka. They stiched a fantastic partnership of 84 off just 52 deliveries which put Sri Lanka in the front seat to win the game. But, Sri Lanka lost these two at the wrong time and they didn't get support from other batters as they got bundled out for just 170.
Speaking about the bowling of Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga (4-0-28-1) bowled beautifully which kept India under 215, where at one stage they were looking to score more than 230. Matheesha Pathirana (4-0-40-4) bowled superbly but he was slightly expensive and gave excellent support to Hasaranga. Hence, the Sri Lankans will hope all these to continue their good form and get good support from middle-order batters and other batters.
