After the unsuccessful tour of India, the young Windies team will now be up against a strong Bangladesh team at their home. They will face off in 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is on the tour. The tour begins with the two-match Test series on November 22 which will be followed by the ODIs and T20Is and ends exactly after a month on December 22.

On the overall outcome front, Windies have a better. As far as the bilateral contest is concerned, Windies lead the Test head to head 10 – 2; it is the same story in the ODIs where they lead 20 – 9. However, the two teams are tied at 4 matches a piece in the T20Is battle. The last time the teams met, Windies won the Test series 2-0; but the limited-overs honours were bagged by Bangladesh who won both the ODIs and T20Is series 2-1 respectively.

While Windies will want this tour to shape up positively for them, the challenge intensifies as they will be without regular skipper Jason Holder. He suffered a partial thickness tear of the subscapularis tendon in his shoulder and will thus be in rehab back in Barbados. In his absence vice-captain of the team, Kraigg Brathwaite will have the responsibility of leading the team against the Tigers.
