Suryakumar Yadav is the former captain of the Indian team in T20Is. He was a part of the team that won the T20 World Cup 2024 and led the side in 2026 World Cup and guided the the Men in Blue to defend the title. 

Suryakumar made his T20I debut in March 2021 and has featured in 113 matches as of September 14. He has made 3272 runs at an average of 36.35 and a strike rate of 162.94. Suryakumar has scored four centuries and 25 half-centuries so far. Since his debut, no Indian batter has made more runs in T20Is than him and no batter in the world has made more T20I centuries.

In October 2022, Suryakumar reached the top of the ICC Rankings for batters in T20Is and remained in the position till June 2024.
