Cricketers & celebrities wish Harbhajan Singh on becoming father

India’s veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and his actress-wife Geeta Basra have been blessed with a baby girl. The baby was born in London on Wednesday. Harbhajan’s mum confirmed the news .

Harbhajan, who got married in October last year in a grand wedding, also was with his wife and shared a picture. Bhajji had previously expressed a great excitement about becoming a father. He joined his wife in Britain and stay by her side.

He seems to be fully prepared. “We bought many things for the kid. It was tough to control my wife. She wanted to buy everything in sight.”

He also said that he would like to be a friend to his child.

“I will give him or her all the freedom to live life with respect and dignity. No one is perfect, but I will try to be the best dad.”

Bhajji also celebrated his birthday earlier this month with his wife in Portsmouth. The 36-year-old, who has been out of the national team these days, has had an illustrious career where he featured in 103 Tests, 236 ODIs and 28 T20Is for India with an aggregate of 711 wickets in international cricket.

Bhajji has also come forward to sponsor clothing of the Indian disabled cricket team, who will tour Afghanistan next month for a tri-series.

Meanwhile, the news of him becoming father spread quickly and wishes came pouring in from all corners. Fans, celebrities and cricketers all wished the Turbanator for entering this new phase of life.
