Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Most of the talks were surrounding the Qualifier 2 of the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The game was played between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. After the Capitals won the toss and elected bat first, they put up a substantial 189 for the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan was the standout batsman for them, scoring 78 runs from 50 balls with six fours and two sixes.

Dhawan conjured praises from former cricketers Danny Morrison and Sanjay Manjrekar. The Capitals blazed away in the powerplay courtesy Shikhar and Marcus Stoinis’ blitz. Hemang Badani reckoned that the onslaught got the Sunrisers on the mat. In the meantime, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan beat Zimbabwe in the second T20I by eight wickets and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Haider Ali and Babar Azam notched half-centuries and Ramiz Raja was mightily impressed with them. Leg-spinner Usman Qadir was also decent as he picked up three wickets. Mahmudullah Riyad, the Bangladesh all-rounder, has tested positive for COVID-19 and he won’t be playing in the 2020 edition of the PSL. Pakistan batsman Shan Masood wished him a speedy recovery.
