Cricketing trends in Twitter today

Azhar Ali and David Warner dominated both the cricket field and the twitter space with spectacular knocks. While Azhar rewrote the record books smashing a double century to help Pakistan reach 443/9 declared on the third day of the Melbourne Test against Australia, David Warner led Australia’s response with fury and clobbered the Pakistan bowler to hit a highly entertaining 144 runs knock.

Both the knocks were record breaking. Azhar’s feat made him the first Pakistan batsman to score a double-century in Tests in Australia while Warner’s 17th test century enabled him achieve a milestone as he went past 5000 runs in Tests in 109 innings, one innings quicker than former Australia captain Ricky Ponting.

In the BBL, Pat Cummins, the Sydney Thunder all –rounder, was in fiery mood clocking 145 plus regularly. But, the spotlight grabbing moment came for him when he bowled Brendon McCullum with a 150kmph delivery. The tweeples went crazy and reactions soon came pouring in.

Outside of the cricket field, Harbhajan Singh today met Punjabi singer Gaga Mann. The former off-spinner appeared really happy a shared a snap with the singer with his followers. Sanath Jayasuriya was reminiscing one of his flashy record making knock while Mahela Jayawardana was backing his bowlers to pick some early wickets to gain back the edge against South Africa.

Isa Guha was happy to be sandwiched by the legendary fast bowling duo of Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram. Just another lucky person able to meet the behemoths of the game.
