The Twitter space today saw loads of tweets coming from cricketers all around the world. It began with Mark Ramprakash witnessing the Indian Navy parade early in the morning in Mumbai. The cricketer expert seemed excited and quickly shared the picture with his followers.

Former South African cricketer Mark Boucher today celebrated his 35th birthday. The legendary wicket-keeper holds the most number of dismissals in international cricket – 999, to be precise. His career could have more illustrious had an unfortunate on-field incident not hurt his vision.

Boucher suffered a serious eye injury on 9 July 2012, after being struck on his left eye by a flying bail. He wasn’t wearing a protective helmet nor glasses when he was struck by the bail after leg-spinner Imran Tahir’ s googly which bowled Somerset’s Gemaal Hussain. He underwent an eyeball surgery later on and was ruled out of the rest of the tour. But, the severity of the injury forced him to retire prematurely on 10 July.

Alex Tudor was celebrating his brother’s birthday and chilled out with him with beers. Jonty Rhodes shared a lovely picture of his daughter India before leaving to India for work. ‘King of swing’ Wasim Akram spent yet another productive session with young Sri Lankan fast bowlers. He also took this opportunity to meet with some of his on-field rivals cum close friends including Aravinda de Silva. South Africa seamer Vernon Philander shared a picture with his fiancee’ announcing his wedding plans to his followers (here’s another man going down).
