It was a normal for cricket lovers until the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced its annual awards. Indian fans had great reason to cheer as ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was declared as the Cricketer of the Year.

During the voting period, which ran from 14 September 2015 to 20 September 2016, the 30-year-old from Chennai played eight Tests in which he took 48 wickets and finished as the No.1 all-rounder and spinner in the Test format. It was a special occasion and wishes from current and former cricketer including Shahid Afridi and Virender Sehwag came pouring in for him.

Stuart Broad, the new Hobart Hurricanes recruit, today met his new teammates and was absolutely delighted to become a part fo their family. Former English international Alex Tudor was soaking in under the sun at the beach with good food as company while David Warner was enjoying the beauty of Melbourne skyline.

With Christmas around, how can cricketers not post about the plans they have to celebrate the favourites holiday season. A couple of then who could not control their excitement were Michael Vaughan and Chris Gayle. The former decided he will have some fun with his family while Gayle was all set and suited up in red to welcome Santa.
