Chennai Super Kings have suffered multiple blows after travelling to the UAE for the much-awaited IPL 2020. They were struck with the first blow after their multiple members tested positive for coronavirus. To make things worse, their vice-captain Suresh Raina also left for India owing to personal reasons.
It’s been downhill ever since for the Yellow Army as they were again shaken with a third massive blow on Friday. Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has also decided to pull out of the tournament due to personal reasons. While Raina had returned home after travelling with the team to UAE, Harbhajan had remained in India.
Harbhajan announced his decision on Twitter and even thanked CSK for their support during such a period. Twitter was flooded with tweets about Harbhajan as CSK have been struggling to find a good rhythm before flagging off their IPL 2020 campaign. Fans also debated how CSK will fare in the absence of two veterans– Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh.
Amid these stern times, the Chennai franchise rolled out exciting news for its fans. They gave a glimpse of their brand new cricket jersey while sharing a picture of skipper Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo.
IPL franchises, meanwhile, continued their trend of sharing photos and videos from their training camps in the UAE. Several teams like Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals shared stills from their net sessions. Many fans also expressed their excitement ahead of the announcement of IPL 2020 schedule. After many delays, the BCCI is expected to roll out the schedule of this year’s IPL season.
