The cricketing trends on the social media revolved around a number of incidents, mostly involving the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). On Saturday, there were as many as two encounters- one was played between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and the other between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the RGI Stadium in Hyderabad.

The first game was won by the home team by 22 runs and hence, CSK, captained by MS Dhoni, also moved to the top of the points table with their fourth victory from five matches. Courtesy of Dhoni and Faf du Plessis’ half-century, the Super Kings put up a decent score of 160 in their 20 overs. For Punjab, the likes of KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan scored half-centuries, but couldn’t take KXIP over the finishing line at the Chepauk.

Deep Dasgupta lauded Deepak Chahar, who was outstanding in the death overs. After the victory, Chahar also congratulated his team. As far as the SRHvMI game is concerned, Kieron Pollard 46 from 26 balls and he drew praises from former Indian player RP Singh.

Aakash Chopra felt that Suryakumar Yadav was unlucky after he was given out off the bowling of Sandeep Sharma. In the meantime, former Aussie batsman Dean Jones tried to decipher how to dismiss the hulk-like Andre Russell, who has been in bludgeoning form in this edition’s IPL.
