It was raining heavily at the time of the accident and more than 30-40 people have been admitted to hospital. Aakash Chopra and Ravichandran Ashwin also tweeted out about the incident and expressed their grief.

Many cricketers also tweeted out over India retaining the rights to host the T20 World Cup in 2021. ICC, post its meeting on Friday, confirmed that India will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 as planned. Furthermore, it also announced that Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 in New Zealand has been postponed until February – March amid COVID-19 pandemic.
