The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Most of the talks were regarding the fifth day’s play between Bangladesh and West Indies at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The day, well and truly, belonged to Kyle Mayers, who was making his Test debut after having played a handful of ODIs and T20Is. In the final innings of the game, the Caribbean team needed 395 runs to win and found themselves in trouble after getting reduced to 59 for three. But Mayers didn’t allow any sort of pressure to build on himself and got to his century off 178 balls. He and Nkrumah Bonner played out to entire ensure to set the cat amongst the pigeons in the Bangladesh dugout. Even after Taijul Islam got rid of Bonner, Mayers didn’t give up the ghost by any means.

Thereafter, Virender Sehwag, Michael Vaughan, and many from the cricket fraternity wished him. The netizens also opined on India’s ongoing Test against England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
