The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. On Monday, October 7, Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in the second match of the three-game T20I series by 35 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. It also meant that Dasun Shanaka and Co won the series with a game remaining on Wednesday, October 9. Bhanuka Rajapaksha, playing only his second international encounter, notched 77 off 48 balls to help Lanka amass 182 on the board. His knock had six fours and six sixes, and he was adjudged as the Player of the Match.
After the historic win, the cricketing fraternity congratulated the visitors. Rangana Herath, who retired last year, was all praises and said that it was a team effort from the Islanders and also also wished them for the next match. Zaheer Khan, the former Indian fast bowler, turned 41 and he got wishes, love and admiration from his colleagues and fans. Later, Zak thanked one and all for the wishes. Meanwhile, Melbourne Stars picked former South African pacer Dale Steyn for the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League (BBL).
Glenn Maxwell, who plays for the same team, welcomed Steyn to the Stars’ setup.
