The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The final of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) took place on November 10 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. In the end, it was Mumbai Indians (MI), who won their fifth title, beating the Delhi Capitals (DC) by five wickets with eight balls to spare. the Capitals, led by Shreyas Iyer, made their maiden IPL final only to go down fighting. After the tournament, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was a relieved man and he congratulated one and all for the same.
Hardik Pandya, who played quite a few cameos with the bat, dedicated the victory to his son Agastya, who’s born a couple of months ago. Former Indian cricketer missed the presence of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the playoffs. For the first time, the Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, couldn’t make the playoffs in its 10-year history. In fact, they were the first team to be knocked out of the championship.
Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson celebrated his birthday and on the auspicious occasion, he was showered with wishes from the cricket fraternity. Virat Kohli, who played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), wished his teammate as well. Smriti Mandhana was happy after the Trailblazers won their maiden Women’s T20 Challenge, beating the Supernovas in the final at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
