Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The second Test between India and England started at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India, well and truly, were on the backfoot after the defeat by 227 runs in the opening Test at the same venue. They didn’t get off to a good start after Olly Stone got rid of Shubman Gill for a duck. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli had tough days. In fact, Kohli couldn’t open his account as he got out to Moeen Ali, who was making his Test comeback.

But Rohit Sharma scored a century to make sure that India made a comeback. He, in the end, fell prey to Jack Leach. Rohit scored 161 runs off 231 balls with the help of 18 fours and two sixes. He got an apt partner in Ajinkya Rahane, India’s Test vice-captain, who found his rhythm back as well. Rahane notched 67 runs off 149 balls before he became Moeen’s second victim of the game at the Chepauk.

Sohail Tanvir and Fakhar Zaman are set to play in the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Rilee Rossouw, the South Africa batter, also reached Karachi ahead of the second T20I. He will play for the Multan Sultans.
