The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League is all set to get underway on February 20. The opening match of the extravaganza will be played between defending champions Quetta Gladiators and the Islamabad United at the National Stadium in Karachi. The excitement surrounding the tournament is on an escalation, and Haris Rauf posted a picture alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi. Both would be turning out for the Lahore Qalandars and are expected to share the new ball.

Hasan Ali posted a picture with the veteran Shoaib Malik, and the duo would be playing for the Peshawar Zalmi. Asif Ali also uploaded a picture with his teammates in the Islamabad United. Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis stepped aside the skipper of the South Africa. After he hung his boots, the Proteas cricketers expressed gratitude to him and wished him for his future. Quinton de Kock has recently removed him as the captain in ODI and T20I cricket for the series against England.

The Women’s T20 World Cup will be taking centre-stage from February 21. The first match will be played between India and Australia at the Sydney Showground Stadium. Harmanpreet Kaur and Heather Knight posted pictures, showing their excitement for the T20 tournament. AB de Villiers, who may make a comeback for the Proteas, has turned 36 years old.
