The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Pakistan finished their two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in style. Azhar and Ali and Co defeated the visitors by 263 runs at the National Stadium in Karachi. It also helped them to win the series 1-0 after the drawn Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The hosts needed only three wickets to win the match on the fifth day of the Test match. Naseem Shah had a memorable match as he finished with an awe-inspiring five-wicket haul.

To start with, he got rid of Lasith Embuldeniya for a golden duck. Then he pinned Vishwa Fernando to seal the fate of the encounter. Oshada Fernando showed great resistance with his maiden century in the format. He was one of the overnight batsmen on the last day, but got out early on Day five. Yasir Shah removed him in the 62nd over. After Pakistan won the game, the cricketing fraternity appreciated the home team for the resounding show. It included the likes of Kamran Akmal, Babar Azam and many others.

MS Dhoni, the veteran Indian cricketer, finished 15 years of his international career and Scott Styris, the former New Zealand cricketer, talked about his favourite Dhoni moment. Kevin Pietersen, the cricketer turned commentator, gave a sneak peak into his Instagram account. Rohit Sharma is looking forward to his goals in 2020 after a successful year. He was the leading run-scorer in the three-match ODI series versus the West Indies with a century in Visakhapatnam.
