The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is set to get underway on February 21 and will continue until March 8. India’s first match in the mega event is against hosts Australia at the Sydney Showground Stadium in the first day itself. The Showground Stadium is currently the home venue for the Sydney Thunder in the 2019-20 Big Bash League (BBL). Prior to that, India will be playing a tri-nation series.

The series involves Australia and Women and India Women. For their Australia sojourn, the Women in Blue are well and truly excited. Veda Krishnamurthy and T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur posted pictures along with their teammates. Last time around in the West Indies, India bowed out after the semi-final. Ajinkya Rahane, the Indian Test vice-captain was on Cloud 9 after getting to spend time with Anil Kumble, the former Indian leg-spin bowler.

Meanwhile, the Indian men’s team are scheduled to play a T20I series against New Zealand, starting Friday, January 24 at the Eden Park in Auckland. After reaching in the land of Kiwis, the Indian players have been sharing pictures, the latest of them being Shivam Dube. Former Australia cricketer reckons that the Men in Blue will get the batter of the Black Caps in the first game of the series. Shreyas Iyer shared a picture where he can be seen focussing hard on his batting.
